Why you need strength and cross training
Many people think the weekly bike ride they are doing is enough. Even if you are an avid runner, hiker, biker-you name it- let's talk about a few reasons you might benefit from strength and conditioning:
- Strong bones- keep osteoporosis FAR away, increase your bone density
- Recruits different types of muscle fibers and neuromuscular pathways than endurance training alone
- Drastically improves your metabolism- the more lean muscle you have, the more energy (calories) your body burns just to maintain, not to mention recovering and growing those muscles
- Lean/toned physique: You will finally develop that hot body you've been wanting (ask me for the science:))
- Increases general strength to be stronger and lift more in general and trains/recruits larger muscle groups
- Points out small muscular imbalances so we can isolate and make them stronger
- Trains smaller, often overlooked muscles that have a significant effect on overall body muscular balance and when trained properly, help decrease or eliminate pain
- BE STRONG FOR LIFE!!
